CØLDSTAR are a Swiss dark electronic duo moving between melancholic synthpop, darkwave and retro-futurist post-punk.
Formed by Martin Baumann and Michael Freund, the project is shaped by a shared fascination for the darker side of space: extinguished stars, distant planets and black holes — places beyond imagination, full of longing, silence and strange beauty.
With analog synthesizers, vocoders and atmospheric soundscapes, CØLDSTAR create songs that are cold on the surface but deeply human underneath. Their music combines cinematic melancholy with danceable electronic energy — distant, emotional and slightly out of orbit.
Their debut LP CØSMIC DUST was released via Swiss Dark Nights in 2024 and reached the Top 10 of the Poponaut charts. In 2026, their single Post-Punk Robot entered the Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC) at #2, further strengthening the duo’s presence within the dark electronic scene.
