CØLDSTAR are a Swiss duo blending melancholic synthpop, darkwave and retro-futurist post-punk into cinematic songs with a cold electronic surface and a deeply human core.
Formed by Martin Baumann and Michael Freund, the project is drawn to the darker side of space: extinguished stars, distant planets, black holes — and the fading signals between them.
Built around analog synthesizers, vocoders and a dark human voice, their songs carry a danceable pulse through distance, memory and retro-futurist longing.
Their debut LP CØSMIC DUST was released via Swiss Dark Nights in 2024 and reached the Top 10 of the Poponaut charts. In 2026, Post-Punk Robot entered the Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC) at #2.
